PAINTING WITH A TWIST

RICHMOND, VA

Guests come to Painting with a Twist to drink wine, have a good time with their friends and paint. That’s the “twist” part of Painting with a Twist — it’s not about the art. It’s about the experience.

As an Artist/Floor Artist, I instruct classes and assist other stage artists in an entertaining environment where customers gather and mingle. I instruct 2 hour and 3 hour classes. Full classes include some time before class for artists to set up with table covers, canvases, easels, paints and supplies and to greet and check in customers.

Virtual ClassES

Virtual Classes Based in Richmond, Virginia

throughout this year and last year I have been TEACHing 1 hour paint workshops to the Youth Ambassador Squad (YAS) from THE HIVE .

EACH CLASS CORRESPONDed TO A CERTAIN TOPIC OF THE MONTH.

in February I taught a Portrait Class around the idea of “Loving Our Blackness”

IN March I taught an abstract workshop around the topic of “Your Health is Your Wealth”

IN may I taught paint pours for “Stopping the Stigma”

I also taught many other Paint Lessons that revolved around the topics of mental Health.

As a child I took multiple classes at the Visual Arts Center and at 16 years old I began one of my most memorable volunteer opportunities.

I worked at the Visual Arts Center as an ArtVenture Summer Program Assistance during an 11-week schedule that included more than 170 weeklong workshops. During that time I worked alongside teachers in different workshop classes as a mentor and student-teacher.

This experience allowed me to see the beauty of youth art and development. I picked up on many teaching and art skills that summer; class scheduling, icebreakers, sewing, stained glass collaging, character illustrating, robotics, sculpting, pottery, and being a mentor.
